Thanks I knew if there was an alternative I could try you would be the one who would suggest it.

Eolabeo's advice is working great, Duke is whimpering now to go for his walk the kittens are sliding down the back of the settee.

We let Duke sleep with us last night. Forcing him outside and to stay there until he does something was a start and making him walk yesterday evening was the best thing I could have done. After a little while he stopped trying to turn back.

His abdomen is getting back to normal, it actual looks back to normal.

I've never been in this position before with a dog and kittens.

lol whilst it isn't a major problem it could have been a major health issue for Duke.

As daft as it sounds he was exhauted, things are panning out nicely now for him.

Today he has been a typical Staffie charging round, one of the kittens tried to hitch a lift, I had to grab him.

I just think that is so cute - he had taken on role of new mummy.
Don't get me wrong I was not laughing at the problem at all - just think it's one of the nicest ones and like you said somewhere before he could get over protective too.

Good Luck - Hope he learns to take a bit of time for himself now!

No I know you weren't, it is a cute problem I didnt look at it that way, now we are overcoming the problem I can see that it is quite comical too.

Its no fun cleaning pees and poos especially when he is usually really clean, I'm pleased the problem was the kittens and nothing more sinister.

As everyone says its irresponsible ownership, not realising a problem was developing, hopefully with Eolabeo's help I have nipped it in the bud - so to speak.

Yeh, your right we still can't close the door to isolate him, after a walk of just over 3 hours he went straight to their crate, they were sleeping and he decided to bark. I just brought him into the room and gave him a bit more attention.

He got on really well with Jasper, better than I realised. He is intrigued with them and as you say its a new experience for him and kittens being kittens there is never a dull moment.

It is going to take time but I feel I have turned a corner with him, no wet patches and at least he is happy to go for a walk now.

Seriously I can't thank you enough.

Sue

Yak, no but he will finish their dinner for them, and they actually join him when he's eating. I do stop him from eating theirs and them from eating with him.

He probably would given the chance.
