If you are serious about breeding, then you might find it helpful to contact you local breed club.
Also both the dam and sire will need to bed DNA tested for CEA (collie aya anomoly) TNS (Trapped neutrophil syndrome) and NCL (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis).
Also, breeding can change a dogs temperament for the worse. This applies to both the dog and bitch. It can make male dogs aggressive. You are also potentially risking the life of your dog.
Its an opld wives tale that a litter before spaying is good for a dog.
