Having toilet troubles
With a 1 / 2 year old ****-zu x crested.
Suga was brought from a puppy. So we house trained, learn't her everything. Although toliet training was the hardest. She never learned to use the back garden, until she was around 6/7 months. Since this we have a few accidental moments where she missed the back door ect but never thought of it as an issue. Until now.... She is:- Weeing all over the house, Whining of a night, At present she is going out every hour on the hour. But she's not:- Whining to go out, Just attention i believe, Not going to the loo (Outside back garden) Not on walks, (To the park, Or on general outings) We are thinking of re-training her, But we are also worried that she might have a weak bladder..? So what would you do? Vets OR Retrain? Ps: This is something thats got worse over the past 2 weeks.... |

Re: Having toilet troubles
Hi
Definately, Definately, take her to the vets as soon as possible, if nothing has changed in your household recently, it is almost certainly a Urinary Tract infection, which a short course of anibiotics can cure. If you can, get a urine sample to take with you, not an easy task with a small dog. Use a clean plate and as she pees, pop it underneath her and catch what you can!!!! Put into a clean bottle or jar - you only need half an inch or so. The vet will think you are marvelous! If this comes back clear, then you need to look at anything that has changed recently and then go back to basics again. Please note, dogs that are asked to 'hold on' for long periods of time whilst their owners are out, may suffer re-occuring infections. Hope all is OK with her. Kate

Re: Having toilet troubles
Thanks guys,
I mean its getting to the point now (With no sleep) that we think she is doing this because she can. I mean like a few hours ago, the garden doors was open and rather then go outside to used the loo, She just run upstairs and wee'd everywhere. Would she be showing any other signs if she has an infection or bladder problems? Only its not just weeing she is doing now...While she wee'd earlier she also poo'd too..? |
