It's also good that the resource guarding is not directed at humans ![]() Is it more with Bear that he has "arguments" about toys, food and random objects? He doesn't actually sound too bad, although it's probably just worth supervising them around toys/food etc... Keep us updated

Re: Fighting
Sorry for hijacking this thread but I feel I could do with some help. Here is my story.
As you may know we have a westie who is 3 and have just brought another westie into the family. The puppy is 12 weeks old tomorrow. We have now had her about 5 weeks and everything was fine until last weekend. Molly the 3 year old attacked Konnie over a bit of food. They then carried on playing well together but there have been a few more instances of Molly starting to fight. Each time it is food related really. They are both fed in the kitchen but at opposite ends. On Friday night though Konnie, the puppy, tried to get into Molly's food whilst Molly was eating and Molly quite rightly told her off but in a fighting way which is not good. My hubby had to pull Molly off and Konnie was still attached. Last night I gave them both a new toy each which had been given to them in the afternoon by my friend and again a fight broke out so the toys are now away. At lunchtime today Konnie was eating her lunch and Molly who doesn't eat at lunchtime decided to have another go at her. They have played together since and I have also taken them both out for a walk together and they are now having a sleep. 90% of the time they are great together but I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I have emailed by dog trainer who does the puppy class for Konnie and is also a behaviourist but I won't hear from her until tomorrow and just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and what they did. I hope this all makes sense and sorry for it being such a long post. |

![]() Hes never ever shown any hint of aggression to people hes a softy with us and human strangers meals times have always been seperate, but now instead of having them treated together and now crating/removing from the room at meal times has made it abit easier. Toys have been moved so they cant help themselves aswell now which i think is a massive help. thank you for you help, Im going to give them a ring and see if they can suggest anything else. Aly good luck aswell, Ive been very lucky although they have these "fights" they arent really fights its more of a strong telling off as such as zeb does stop when told, im not sure i could get zeb off bear if he really want to go as zebs around 34-36kg and very strong. x

Re: Fighting
Just thought i'd update
Hardly any fighting happening now when they do they stop straight away, we put them both in a both position untill they have calmed down its working They are working abit more for there treats aswell now so abit more mental stimulation during the day which has helped loads i think so instead of trying to eat each other they get to eat yummy treats ![]()

Re: Fighting
Hi
Thanks for posting to update, it is always interesting to know what works and what doesn't to improve things. Glad it is getting easier. Kate
