Barking while gardening

We have a real issue with Archie barking while we are gardening, its mostly when we are using tools, which he also tries to attack. we have so far tried:

saying "quite" and "no bark"
someone else playing with him on the other side of the garden
Pet corrector spray
Spraying water at him
connecting his long line to the tree

Its becoming a real safety problem and I'm keep putting of sorting out the veg patch (my part of the garden!) beause of it
We don't want to just shut him in the house while we garden, but we can't think of anything else to try.

eek:

Re: Barking while gardening

Poppy barks and sings to Coronation Street theme tune, anyone leaving a message on the telephone answer machine, oh and when socks are half hanging off your foot. Why? oh why? Have given up figuring why she does it.

But then I sit and look at some of my antics - Getting the kids to pull my finger and then farting. Driving through puddles hoping to get the walker on the pavement...etc etc

Its life we are all nuts and so are our dogs LOL

He HE hE !!! Jessie was not sure of the vac when we first got her she would back away now if ive got the long hose out of the dyson doing the stairs she stands on the step above me trying to get hold of it lol, she even likes being hoovered herself it makes her all frisky .
You could maybe try putting the tools out in the garden and letting him investigate them till the novelty wears off or leaving then lying aroung and telling him leave when he approches them giving a reward for leaving , sometimes the girls like attacking the garden broom while im trying to sweep but if i just stand still and dont look at them they go away its like oh she aint playing ill go find something else to do !

leaving the tools lying around is a good idea, although it will drive my dad nuts the shed and garage is his home and everything has its place!!! lol

Also the staying still and engoring would be worth a try - can't hurt trying, right?

If all else fails you could disipline him or is that just for cats?

I think leaving them lying around so Archie can investigate them is the best idea, just make sure he doesn't start chewing on them like Jayjay would if I left them lying around!
