What would u recommend then? We bought some dry puppy food ourselves, eukanuba and also the sachets.
Would they be ok?
I dont use eukanuba but it is better than the asda tins!!! Have the parents been tested for syringomyelia?

And I am sorry but we have 11 dogs plus 12 puppies here at the moment and would never ever buy a cheaper dog food I would rather go without myself, basically if you cant afford them you shouldnt have them and deffo not breed from them.

Re: I know its only been one day but...

Hiya congrats on your new family member When you are changing his food do it very very slowly - over the next 3 weeks - this will help you avoid him getting the squits - young puppies can dehydrate really quickly so you need to avoid diahorrea Which ever complete food you decide to go with stick to it - even if he has a picky day - the fewer times you change the better. I'm no expert on complete foods as my dogs are both fed raw but I know that Royal Canin has a good reputation and a few of the breeders I know wean their pups onto it.

Tashi I'm with ya 100% - there are some total k**s out there

i would recommend nature diet puppy- it is a very good quality food- 100% natural no additives and quite economical.
James Wellbeloved does actually have additives it say that there are no added additives but some of the initial ingredients do have added additives.
I would go for nature diet- you can buy it in most good pet stores.

Re: I know its only been one day but...

He should be on four meals a day at this young age, and you should have been given a diet sheet from the breeder.

I would strongly advocate that you do word association with him straight away. Puppies are smarter than you think, and Luika who is now just over 10 weeks old, knew pooh, and wee wee within two days.

I have never used training pads, but we do have a garden so do not need them. Tashi was absolutely right with regard to puppies toileting upon waking, and after meals. They do seem to wee for England at that age, and cannot always hold themselves until you get them out into the garden, or in your case, a training pad. Please remember not to scold them, as they are babies.

Luika learned to poo in the garden within a few days, but still has the odd wee accident inside. As they get older however, so their bladder will strengthen.
