Excellent walk!

I have posted before about Bella's fear of traffic and my difficulties getting her to walk nicely on the lead as she is so terrified of the traffic around her.
Well, tonight I walked her around the block and she walked beautifully! I had to correct her a few times but a massive improvemnt on how she was just a few weeks ago. I actually enjoyed walking her - I am SO proud of my girl
I know we have a bit more work to do yet but this has given me (and Bella) a bit of a confidence boost.

Re: Excellent walk!

Its good to have positive experiences to build on.

We have been walking ours but she is a PIA! Everything is a distraction, she needs to sniff every inch of pavement and anything loose ends up in her mouth!

Every time she pulled I stopped and asked her to sit. A walk that should have taken about 10 minutes sometimes took 45 minutes but I am reaping the rewards now!
She seems more at ease with traffic, she still walks with her tail between her legs but doesn't seem as scared as she used to be.
The part we still have to work on is when we are approaching home, she starts to pull when she can see home so I just walk past our gate for about 10 paces then turn back and walk past the gate again for 10 paces etc. She is then a bit confused and her attention is more focused on me and what I am going to do next rather than our gate. When we walk past the gate and she doesn't pull we go in. Its really effective
I am so pleased!
