Bitch in Season - Soiling in House

We have a 5year old 'westie' that we bought approximately 8 weeks ago from a breeder. She was previously used as a breeding bitch and has been in good health. Her house training hasnt been a problem until a couple of days ago when she started pooing in the house. We wonder if this may be linked to her coming into season last weekend. Does anyone have any experience of this or can anyone confirm that the change in behaviour and coming into season are linked???

Re: Bitch in Season - Soiling in House

Mine always do something out of the ordinary when they are due in season.
I think its down to the change in hormones.
Sometimes they will chew something they arent allowed or be very moody with each other and I should imagine soiling in the wrong place as another sign too.
Not to worry though, they do go back to normal, eventually

Re: Bitch in Season - Soiling in House

Daisy is 2 days into her first season at 15 months , she had an accident in the house last night but she has been constipated for 24 hours so put it down to her not toileting properly , i dont think the constipation is to do with the season but she looks so pittifull and must be feeling like rubish. but yes they do get back to normal after , Jessie didnt really change at all other than being a bit soppy and wanting cuddles.
