Old dog was really tidy.. pooed in a corner or up things and NEVER on the grass. New 11 month old is a pooer anywhere-er. On a walk (in the countryside) he will just plant wherever he is and do one... and it's always on the grass in the garden.

I searched in the archives, but 'poo' seems to be a favourite topic, so couldn't find anything

I am presuming it should be a getting hold of him when he looks like doing it and taking him to where we want him to be? Very difficult on a walk though as he quickly drops his derriere and does it (the old dog would circle a few times, giving a good indication) and he doesn't as yet have a routine to his pooing.

Any tips on how to train him to poo at the back of the garden apart from being there with him constantly? (back door is always open so he can wander during the day)

You can get those scent things that encourage them to go where you put them, not sure if they work for poo's or just wee's!?!

Milo used to go up on the stones behind the shed all the time for 1's and 2's, as soon as we laid turf down he started going on the grass! Damn dog has killed half the lawn already! Better than the dog we had stopping last week though he only ever marked on my blackberry bush, it's well and truly dead now

I used to have a beautiful garden before this one **sighs**... He's already managed to kill my tulips, a rose bush and some rubbery plant thing, I don't know the name of... mostly through charging through them or eating them

I know what you mean.. I think I can just about see the tip of the Sydney Opera House through one of the holes in the garden Can only see China through the hole in the lawn... (thank god he's given up that wee habit!!!)

both our girls go wherever they like lol and jessie will poo and walk so you get a trail of nuggets . id like to get mine to poo and wee at the bottom of the garden bur never got round to training them , Grass what grass lol its more like a savanah of scrubland , and thats just with a few days of sunshine on it , dog wee sure is strong someone should bottle it as a weed killer ( all organic lol)
