Well we did the training today. Only 2 other dogs in the class and they'd been there before, so differing standards. I got a good few tips though and it was very useful!!! We also finally got our hands on a whistle so have been practising using it in the house and he's responding really well. When his mind is focussed, he's great, so I suppose it's limiting the distrations at the beginning.
I then put him on a lunge line at the stables and asked him to recall and he was fantastic! the whistle pip is certainly a big help. Still peed off after rabbits up the field when we went on the walk, but am not stressed about it as he's still a kid and I couldn't use the whistle with him... too early AND he did come back very well eventually, showing that he was learning even though it was only a few hours since the training session.
So he's stopped chewing shoes (in the week since I posted the original thread) so he's coming on quickly... and he's starting to get recall, albeit slowly
Question.... we shall be continuining training, but I'd like to start incorporating harder moves. SO two pips for 'come'... it's the one pip for sit from a distance. How do you do this? with a helper?? He's great at 'wait' and not move by the way...
Any comments welcome!
