Puberty problems?

My Golden Retriever is now 7 months old. Ever since I got him - at 11 weeks - he NEVER - until now - had any accidents in the house at night (I crate trained him and it worked a treat!). Even during the first two months it took me to get him fully house trained, he only ever slipped up during the day, and has been totally house trained for a good 10 weeks. Now all of a sudden, two nights running he has not made it through the night. Is this something to do with the fact that he is going into puberty? I have not changed his routine, his food, anything!!! I also noticed this morning that he actually did 4 wees in the space of half an hour, which he has never done before - once a walk and that was it! Is this a first sign that he is going to start marking? I have never trained a puppy before - all my other dogs were adult rescue dogs from homes, so I am at a bit of a loss! Any advice would be welcomed!

Re: Puberty problems?

Often by not emptying the bladder fully and weeing frequently is a sign of marking its like they save a bit to put thier sent around thier property . so it coild be an age thing ,
I assume you would have noticed if something was wrong with him as far as a urinary infection , does he seem ok when he passes urine , is it a normal colour and smell .

Re: Puberty problems?

Could be the start of him marking but if it is strong smelling or a funny colour get him to the vets goldens are normally good in the house training department
