My poor spaniels ears

As most of you know I have a 6 yr old cocker and a 6 month old Lhasa puppy. Most of the problems we've had have sorted themselves out but just wondered about this one.

They play together all the time but Sandys ears are a bit of a target for the pup. when they are playing she grabs them and must bite em quite hard cos Sandy will be crying as she does it, sometimes she just wont let go. Why wont' she tell her off or stop her from doing it??

It must be really hurting and I dont like seeing her cry but really dont get why she lets her get away with it. She just looks at you with big eyes as if to say make her stop, should I be as she isnt??

poor thing her poor ears are taking such a battering

any ideas????

Re: My poor spaniels ears

Maybe rub a lemon slice over her ears for a few days to put the little one off.

My little ones make each other screech too as they grab on and pull. Schmoo has long hair and it is pulled and Scamper has lovely puppy fat to hang onto! I sometimes go in and break it up as one will lose their temper with the other. I have to turn them away from each other as well or they will just go straight back in.

Your poor little girl has such patience!

I would stop the pup doing it, because your spaniel has such a nice nature, she doesn't want to tell the pup off. All dogs like all people have their breaking point and if and when she reaches it, she will really go for it.

Thanks Jenny, its funny cos if the pup tries to take her bone or anything she will soon tell her very vocally yet she lets her get away with doin this but will stop her as I dont want her to think biting anyone is ok!
