hi my dog is nearly housetrained and goes outside 90% of the time. he still goes on the puppy pads the rest of the time. i have moved them out of the sitting room into the passage at the top of the stairs (i live in a first floor flat and mac doesnt do the stairs going down but he is ok coming up).

can anyone tell me if i should remove puppy pads all together? he normally barks when he wants to go out he went on them twice tonight but didnt tell me .

I think i would if he is telling you when he wants to go out now the puppy pads may be making him lazy as he is using them instead of telling you on the odd occassion, it could soon become far too easy to use them than bother to let you know and you might find your selves back to square one. I think now the lesson has been taught move forward and onto the stage you would like your puppy to be at as an adult, i think he is telling you he is ready by barking when he does need to go out so regardless of age i would say your pup is definately ready for the 'big boy' stage.

Whats the best thing to use to clean the wooden floor incase he does have an accident?

Biological washing powder or from tesco you can get pet odour removing spray

I think you will have him going outisde now you've moved the pads, he may have been a bit confused
