My lurcher won't stop weeing at night

Please help! I have a 10 month old lurcher called Henry who I love more than anything but he won't stop weeing during the night. He goes out just before bedtime and first thing in the morning however, I always come down to a big puddle and often a poo as well. He is house trained and asks to go out but still does it at night. I have tried feeding him earlier, feeding him less & limiting the amount of water in the evening but nothing is working. The house is starting to stink despite cleaning constantly and my fiance has said he will have to sleep in one of the stables if he doesn't stop which I just can't see happen, he's my baby! Any advice?

Thanks for all the advice. He's fine when left in the day, he goes straight to bed at night and doesn't cry but I will try leaving the light on. He has got a problem with his testicles, neither have dropped and the vet can't find one of them. I wonder if it's pressing on something or causing a problem. He's going to have them out soon so that may help. He didn't do it last night, I got up in the early hours of the morning to check as he was also wormed yesterday so managed to catch him before he needed to go I think. Thanks again from Donna & Henry Dog

Re: My lurcher won't stop weeing at night

Liz had the same issue, although hers was during the day - in the evenings she will always ask to go out, but when Im at work during the day she would just go on the sofa, which resulted in LOTS of washing of sofa cusions and throws!

We thought that she had a weak bladder, but when I took her to the vet he said that she had a wee infection and gave her a course of antibiotics.
She finished the course and it helped - she doesnt go nearly as often now, but she does pee indoors every now and then, so we just have put it down to a weak bladder.

Definitely worth getting Henry checked for infections as it might help clear it up within days!

Good luck,

Tamsworld x
