No i do agree with what you are say to an extent, just as far as a child being bit there should be no second chances.
Dog bites intruder, stranger, another dog, animal, or is scared and bite adult i think is all totally workable. Ive read about some of the current techinics and they are fantastic, but when it comes to children there should be NO second chances if the bite was unprovoked

I'd have thought it more "workable" to ensure a dog never comes into contact with children than other adults.... but I think we're going to have to agree to disagree here

(I don't think I've ever agreed to disagree on a forum before. I need a lie down)

I think it almost impossible to ensure no contact with children. they get bloody everywhere. I think its more "workable" with adults because you can explain as they approach, a toddler poss wouldnt understand. An adult is also more responsible for there actions small children are not.

LOL, i enjoy a debate, everyone is entitled to there opinions

It just isn't.
that really made me laugh. but i do agree with you. there is a limit to every dog, and i think if i was a dog some people on here would have put me to sleep years ago. with some things i have a really long rope but when i do loose my temper god help anyone within 5 miles, other things make me snap easily particually when im feeling uncomfortable already. its the same with dogs.

i know one of my dogs will allow kids to do anything with him, and the small animals can bite his nose and feet and he still comes back for more, but if he thinks someone is a threat to his family, he gives them what for. im pretty sure that if someone ever hit me while he was there he'd rip em to pieces (rightly so in my opinion). its the only time he ever gets nasty because he really doesnt like it. you can only push a dog so far. theres always a reason.

if a dog hates or is scared of something silly like flys (which is quite common) and there is a fly in the room, so the dog is scared already and then you do something else it doenst like, say touch it on the head, then the dog is more likely to bite you, every dog has different caracteristics, phobias and temperments so all dogs need to be handled on an individual basis.
