I'd pop down there without your dog and ask if you can sit in and watch. You'll find out if it's the right class for you both without adding the stress of your dog getting excited. Any good trainer will be more than happy for you to do this and will ask what you are wanting to achieve from the classes. Honestly bite the bullet and go for it I bet you'll enjoy yourself, and it's always easier to find something to chat to the other people about..you already have a common interest of dogs so it will be easy.
