Re: House training????
I would go back to basics.
Sometimes it is better to train them with the door shut so they learn the difference between outdoors and indoors. Take him out side every hour plus everytime he wakes, eats or stops playing and stay out there until he performs. Then give tons of praise. He'll pick it up quickly once he understands whats expected. |

Re: House training????
One of my whippet bitches Tegan was very difficult to house train. We had to shut the door and leave her outside until she had done a wee.
I would put her outside and shut the door. You can either go out with her and wait until she has done or watch her through a window. If she is in the house and starts sniffing round or going in circles then I would put her outside. She will get the message eventually but whippets can sometimes be a bit stubborn. Watch her if the weather is wet and cold if she's anything like my whippets she will dash out and run back in because its cold. This morning when they went out it was pouring down with rain my lot tried to dash out then back in so they found themselves shut out until they did something. They then went back to bed. |

Are you crate training her? I always recommend crate training, it is a wonderful management tool for toilet training and house training. You might find this helpful: Successful Crate Training Also you will need to thoroughly deodorise all previously soiled areas inside by washing with bio washing powder, let air dry, then finish off with a pet deodoriser spray. Dogs have a far superior sense of smell than we humans, if she smells even the slightest whiff of her urine she will simply think she is in the right place to pee. Hope this helps

Re: House training????
Our first whippet Jasper used to howl when we left him. We were advised by friends with whippets that they are much happier living together. I do however know a lot of people whoonly have 1 and I wouldn't recomend it as a solution to your problem especially with your girlonly being 4 months.
Whippets are very addictive I should know I have 10 |
