Re: Anxious Behaviour Problem
if you could find a way to focus her energy into something more challenging, it could help you regain your control. though i've never tried it, i've been hearing a lot about rally obedience. this is taking basic obedience commands and stretching them through a course. its supposed to be a lot of fun for them and it encourages them to listen to you.
if you know how to train your dog obedience, i'm sure you could create your own course. normally what i do for dogs that are anxious is try to find that one thing that is certain to steal their attention. for my two dogs now, those things are treats for the one and tennis balls for the other. dog etiquette is also a must, once she learns how to meet other dogs and can socialize w/them regularly, the novelty will wear off. i understand your dilemma w/her strength. there are harnesses designed to hinder their strength when they pull rather than intensify it. |
