Re: jumping up

she is only kennelled over night unless i am out which because i work from home is not very often. She goes for 2 walks a day and as i also have a 15month old brown lab she is exercised through play nearly alday,

Re: jumping up

I would suggest 2 things

1) When she jumps throw a treat on the floor and as her paws hit the floor say "Off"

2) If nothing else is working and it is a real problem use a pet corrector.

It is a spray that makes a loud hissing noise and you have to use it as per the instructions.

When she jumps spray and say OFF, then treat her when she has 4 paws on the floor.

You can get it in most pet stores it looks like this.

Pet Corrector (50ml): Amazon.co.uk: Garden & Outdoors

Re: jumping up

When your dog is about to jump up, when you come in/go out whatever, turn to one side, this is ignoring the behaviour, words may excite your Lab even more, and be the cause of her continuing...

I have tryed this, and it worked for us, but then again, not every dog is the same, give it a go, everytime she trys to jump turn away from her....

Hope it helps

Re: jumping up

With my 6/12 old if she jumps up i totally ignore her. Once she has settled i give her lots of attention. When I get up in the morning she makes no attempt to jump up but sits next to me waiting for her praise!! My hubby though sings to her as he is coming down the stairs and she greets him by jumping up and putting her paws around him Need to train hubby as well.
