Christmas dont's for dogs

Please do NOT be tempted to offer your dog chocolates during the festive season. Human chocolate contains Theo bromine which causes vomiting and can be fatal to your dog, so please remember to keep them well out of Rover's reach.

Also be mindful that puppies and young dogs love tinsel, and all that glitters. This too can be extremely harmful, and nobody wants to spend the festive season sitting in a veterinary surgery.

One other point. If your dog is sharing your Christmas lunch, please remember to adjust his diet accordingly, otherwise you will both be attending weight watches on New Years Day!

Re: Christmas donts for dogs

Sorry, forgot to mention fairy lights, and Christmas trees, so please remember to turn off your lights before going to work, and retiring to bed.

Poinsettias and Amaryllis are also poisonous to dogs. These plants can cause mouth or stomach irritation from eating just the smallest amounts. Phew, so much to remember!

I have been told also in addition to no chocolate, its no mince pies, and no christmas cake,!!
I have just been giving her little bits of turkey and the odd carrot. That seems to keep her happy, along with a few doggy treats !
