I think Beagles will get on with most dogs, but I think it would be best to get a nice steady breed of about the same size, or a nice little rescue dog.

Love the idea of a rescue dog! Best thing is to visit to the rescue centres with your dog, they will advise you and then they can meet.

How exciting for you and you can give a rescue a good home as well!

Hi, when we visited crufts recently, we were really surprised how many people recommended having more than 1 dog if you have a Beagle, I guess anything to help wear them out!

I do know someone who has rehomed a spaniel to go with their Beagle and I hear so far, the pairing is going quite well.

Alfie loves to spend time with us and we're definitely part of his pack although he is fine to be left for short periods if we need to.
