Housetraining.

Just wondered how long it took you to house train your puppy/dog?
Razor is getting there, slowly but surely, but doing great for a 12 week old pup

Re: Housetraining.

It's been a long time since i had to house train a pup, though in a few weeks time i'll be having a go

I don't remember having a problem at all.....seemed simple enough and relatively quick and easy.

Sounds like your doing a good job yourself

Re: Housetraining.

Oscar was about 95% by 3 months.

He is 5 months now and has only had one accident recently because of a slight confusion about who had let him out (or not as the case turned out to be)

Aww bless him.
Must admit, we have been really lucky with Razor, up until today, but its our own fault, as passed him the odd crisp etc (I know this was wrong to do) and tonight we have sat having dinner, he hasn't touched his food, and proceeded to pinch ours, to which he was told a stern 'No', and he came into the kitchen, turned and looked at us, and just pee'd!! So again a stern 'No' and off outside he went (he'd only been out 10 mins before ) I think passing him food we have, is now a no no, we learn by our mistakes

I did this too. Thought it was cute to give Oscar my empty crisp packets to lick out and very quickly realised that if i carried on i would never be able to eat a bag in peace again. He still tries it on

Glad I'm not the only one, think I have learnt now, lol
Did Oscar continue to eat his food once he knew he couldn't get what you had?

Re: Housetraining.

Ok, things seem to be getting worse regards the spraying indoors, I have just been and let Razor out, saw him do a wee, a long one, and he came in. Our little boy started crying upstairs so I went up, Mark my hubby, went into the kitchen to get a drink of water, and Razor has sprayed all over the rug Mark has never ever done anything un-toward to Razor, only stern 'No's' when needed, and this happens. Mark then went to put Razor outdoors, incase he needed to finish off, asked him to sit at the the door before letting him out, and he sprayed again Really confused!?!?
Razor had his last vaccination yesterday, could it be to do with this? How do we resolve this? Ignoring, is obviously not making things better...I'm lost as not had this happen before, lol.

Re: Housetraining.

Ahh, bless!only 12 weeks old? I doubt he is spraying as such. Some puppies have weaker bladders than others. Hannah is 8months and a work in progress! Sometimes the time you take to open the door is just too long, especially if they have been busy playing and not realiesed they needed to go.
Just take him outside loads and treat and praise when he goes in the right place, he will catch on and his bladder control will improve..
