Oscar would be doing the same if Sophie (my 2 year old) wasn't Insisting he hear her sing Twinkle Twinkle and kiss her.

Re: Crate or no crate?

I have 2 dogs that are crate trained and one that is not. The first dog we got we didn't crate train and we really regret it. I agree that it is a safe place for a dog to go and since dogs are den animals they usually really like it if they are trained to use it properly. Just suddenly putting a dog in a crate that is not used to it can cause problems. It's important to go about it the proper way and the best way is to start when they are little puppies, although you can gradually get an older dog used to one. Our 2 dogs that are crate trained loved their crates and will go in just to sleep during the day all on their own. It's also very convenient if you travel as they always have a familiar place plus helps to keep them safe.
