Unhappy Chewing

Hello All,
My canine friend,an adorable 7mth female Italian Spinone,is munching/chewing my dining room furniture, rug and now wall to bits. This happens when she's left on her own for 2-3 hrs.She has plenty of toys etc although have not tried smearing a kong or leaving radio on! I dread returning to house as normally room looks like I've been burgled.Boredom? Separation anxiety?Am looking into outside kennel and run for when we're out.Any advice welcome.

Re: Chewing

Teething, boredom and seperation could be contributing to her behaviour.
Is there a better room to leave her in with no furniture to destroy?
I would try crate training her if she is only left for upto 3 hours she would be fine in a crate - just take it slowly don't expect her to stay in her crate for longer than a few seconds at first and gradually build it up.
Also a kong or something similar would be great. - I fill mine and freeze them (takes longer to get through and great for teething)
Pieces of towel soaked in water and frozen make good teething toys as well.
Also I have a hollow rubber ball with a small hole in that you fill with dry food and my dog has to roll it around etc to get the food out it keeps him busy for a while.
Good luck - hope you get things sorted.

homeopathic remedies are good for teething. Nelsons make one called 'teetha', granules you can put in the water bowl or rub on gums with your finger. Health food shops sell it.
