Re: Dog fighting

Hi sorry I dont have advice as such. My aunt has a 5 month Lhasa that has just gone into season. As far as I am lead to believe this is young (I have always had males) A neighbours Lhasa also had her first season around this time. Maybe this could be the case with your female?? As I say I dont really know anything about females or this breed. Just taking a guess at what could cause them to suddenly start fighting, hormonal female??

Re: Dog fighting

If Chloe could be coming into season this could be part of the aggression.

My Dixie was really bitchy towards her best friend when she was coming into season, and was like it until a week or so afterwards.

Just try and keep seperating them when they fight, hopefully some one else with info will be along shortly.

x

Re: Dog fighting

HI. I recently got my 3rd rescue dog, an un neutered staffi x. I brought him into a house with 2 other males and a bitch, all of whom are spade. For the first few days it was awful and it didn't get much better until about a week after he had had the op. Now it is much better.

You sound as if you are in a different situation in that you have had both dogs for a while and it has only just started?

For me getting the dog neutered followed by lots of disciplined lead walking as a pack and correcting the dogs BEFORE it could get to a fight solved it for me.

How soon can you get her done? x

Re: Dog fighting

I would also suspect that she is about to come into season, bitches can be very badly behaved around that time, have you noticed aything in particular that starts the fighting? is it over food or possessions? or excitement such as before a walk or when visitors arrive?
Whatever the cause just be sure not to leave them alone together unsupervised until it's sorted out

Re: Dog fighting

I would look into consulting a really good behaviourist as well as having her spayed - belt and braces If you can get a referral from the vets you might be able to claim it on pet ins
