I have a 16 month old dog and a 16 week old puppy (bitch). They got along really wel and played nicely together until this week. My older dog has been unwell for the past week, during which he was too ill to play with the puppy. My dog has now recovered health-wise but is completely disinterested in the puppy. He does not want to pay with her, just ignore her and when she tries to play with him he snaps at her, although not aggressively - just to warn her.

How do I get him to like her again and get them to play and reignite their once harmonious relationship?

Are you sure that your older dog is fully recovered, he may still be under the weather, maybe not ill as such but still a little run down. At 16months old he should be well up for a game. I would keep the pup away for a bit longer and hopefully it will be ok in a few days

I'd agree with Rona, he may still be feeling a little tired if he has been ill and just can't be bothered with the pup just now, they should be fine when he is fighting fit again

If your older dog doesn't want to play that is up to him and your puppy will soon learn to respect that.
