Jumping up.
I have 2 dogs. The first one I bought is a GSD x BC and he never used to jump up. The second dog I got is a pure GSD and she has jumped up from day one. She is now teaching him to jump up which he is doing with more frequency. Although I dont mind them jumping up on me, other people are not as willing to interact with them face to face with 2 paws on their mid-drift. I have tried just ignoring them when they do it but they are very persistant and this does not seem to be working. I have tried a firm, loud NO....DOWN! but they remain just as excited. A loud NO! normally works with most other things but when there is a stranger in the house that smells of other dogs it is too appealing to not jump up. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I can try? It would also be good it is something simple that I can get visitors to try as well. I am aware it will be surgested that I keep them in a seperate room when I have visitors but I am looking for a training solution not a plaster to cover the issue. I am looking for them to be obidient, not out of sight.
Thanks.
Alex.
