Help with FedEX / UPS

We're having a problem! I'll keep it to the fact and any help is appreciated!!

I have 6 year old hunting dog mix about 60lbs. He roams our property and that of our closest neighbor and comes inside at night.

He stays close to home is very obedient and people pleasing toward our family. Perfect dog in every way really.

He doesn't pay any attention to people outside of our property.
When visitors come up our drive he barks and but is otherwise friendly

When FedEx or UPS come up our driveway he goes CRAZY and has recently been nipping at them with their back is turned. During this time he is completely unresponsive to my commands. (FedEx or UPS come nearly every day)

He is quite terrifying during this time. His size is extremely intimidating.

Because this has escalated recently we are very fearful that he will continue to become more bold and really bite.

If we knew when these deliveries would be we could bring the dog inside, but the schedule varies so much. It doesn't seem right to hold him inside all day long waiting for the delivery when his outdoor behavior is so perfect otherwise.

Please help!!

Is your property fenced? If not I would think about doing that instead of allowing him to roam.

yes, fence an area he can hang out in, but where he can't get near enough to the delivery people to alarm or intimidate them. What's he like with other visitors?

Re: Help with FedEX / UPS

We have a very large property which he is very good about staying in without fencing. I don't want to confine him to a small space if I can help it. He has no problem with other visitors, just FedEx UPS. (he will bark at other visitors but no aggression at all. He just alerts me to the fact they are there)
