advice please!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi guys iam really needing some advice please, i have just recently got a lovely 11 month old whippet bitch i took her because she was being mistreated and abused by her previous owner she was underweight and still is very nervous of people etc although she is coming on a treat i have had her 4weeks now, the problem i have is through the night time she is having acciendents weeing and pooing around the house! but through the day time she will go to the back door to be let out,so far i have not being telling her off for this and going back to basic house training as you would house train a pup e.g going out in garden with her and making her have a wee and praising her when she does go however with her going to the door anyway through the day im thinking she knows to go out in garden and whether she does it night time while im in bed because house is quite or theres nobody there etc i also have another dog in my family also a bitch who i have no problems with and both dogs sleep in bed with me cuddled up all night if any body can offer some advice would be grately appreciated thanks

Re: advice please!!

So if both dogs are alseep in the bedroom with you, what happens if you shut the bedroom door? Does the new dog whine at the door to go out, does it toilet in the bedroom or does it just sleep through?

You could always crate train it - loads of info on that and it will feel safe and secure in a crate when introduced correctly.

hi, when i go up to bed both dogs come to bed and go to sleep but through the night she jumps off and goes downstairs and goes on the floor downstairs but i just dont hear her come down, ive never tried shutting her out the bedroom just because shes such a nervous dog and likes to cuddle in i did go to the vets as soon as i got her and she suggested a cage for a night time but i dont like the idea of her being in a cage at night so at the min im just taking her in the garden as often as you would a puppy e.g after nap after food and praise when she does it etc to hopefully get her out of it x

That's what I meant so I apologise for an confusion.

If you are all alseep int he bedroom and the bedroom door is shut, does she get off of the bed and then whine at your bedroom door to go out?
