Definitely The Perfect Puppy by Gwen Bailey - brilliant book.

That's good to know. There are a few training (both puppy and adult etc) places that near me, so probs middle of this month I'm going to start ringing around and book myself for puppy classes, along with doing my own reading.

I haven't heard anything back from her for about a week but she did mention that she was getting her bitch mated so will be away awhile.
