Puppy biting shoes, clothes, skin ...

We have a border collie pup which at 15 weeks is perfectly behaved for my husband yet nips at everyone elses clothing, and most recently he now growls and gets aggressive when I check him for the behaviour. Most annoying him biting my wellies in the park, though he only does it when there are no other dogs around to play with (balls and sticks do not distract him from this) he does stop if I stop but restarts as soon as I walk again. For half the day he is wonderfully behaved, so we know he can be a good dog, but he seems to just loose it. Any ideas ... the bite stops here training just isn't working.

Re: Puppy biting shoes, clothes, skin ...

Yes collie pups just love wellies, shoes and slippers....LOL I can emphasise as I have just taken on a rescue collie pup who is about 13 weeks old and she's rapidly going through both mine and my husband's slippers....!!

Have you taught him to have a tuggy game with you and if so take his favourite tuggy toy with you and distract him with that.

Ask yourself why he is always well behaved with your husband. Is your husband calmer in his approach with the pup than the rest of you?
