Red face Crate issues

Hiya
I have a twelve week pup called Lola, she is a patterdale terrier.

She is reacting to all basic commands such as sit, stay come, paw(nearly lol)

When we go out walking - we have been on 3 now - she stays close on her lead sits when I ask she obviosuly gets excited but does really well and wees when I say "go for a wee Lola"

However she is crated for 2 four hour periods during the day - before and inbetween she goes for a decent sized walk and goes to the toilet.

However everytime I come back she has done a poo in her bed and wee near her bed.

Does anyone have any idea why? Any tips on how to stop it ?
Many Thanks
Sarah

Try reducing the size of the crate, by using a cardboard partition

Or we used a giant teddy to fill the gap, until he grew into the crate. They won't usually pee where they're sleeping, so just make sure there's no free space in the crate!

It sounds like she's a very good pup otherwise, well done! We have never got Sherlock to wee on command !

Thanks for all your advice.
I did cut it down by half but she will actually just poo in her bed fine no worries bout it at all.
Shes started going to the door (abit) when she needs to go out when she is free in the house which is fab! But its likw ashe thinks oh am crated now I have to go to the toilet even if shes been lol

Ill try the space thing again and let you know

Many thanks
