Super-Tug, NILIF, a flirt-pole, Go Wild! & freeze, etc, found in FOUR separate single posts,

Neurotic dog

Controlling Predatory Chasing - Anyone been on a course?

these can be used to build a Really-Reliable Recall, to focus an easily-distracted dog,
to keep a reactive dog attentive & calm, to occupy a bored or antsy dog while between exercises,
& so forth - highly-adaptable, great fun, & addictive to human & beast.

anyone else have any favorite training-games?... Post 'em here!

Re: high-potency GAMES for use in training

Excellent idea for a thread! I'd ben really intrested to hear what everyone does aswell.

We play 'find it' games with hidden tennis balls or treats on certain walks. I will leave the dogs in the car then go & carefully hide the balls or treats before letting the dogs out to find them.

They love this & will run around searching for their treats. I can also then practise recalls or 'leave it' during this time.

Luckily we have quite isolated walks so there is no danger of other dogs finding the prizes!

Hide and seek, inside and outdoors

Found a link so didn't have to type it all. I have even resorted to climbing trees on occasions, though I always worry about crouching in bushes in case someone calls the police.

Also play find it.
