Re: How can I train my dog?

Go back to basics. Walk slowly and stop when the dog is in front - either wait until the dog is back in heel or turn and walk away. Whenever the dog is infront of you repeat (you'll be going in circles for a while but it works!)

Or use a non pull harness, some variation of a halti and teach it to walk to heel using the tool first then try without..

Laptop is going to die and I can't find the charger but others will go into more detail on both methods..

Re: How can I train my dog?

Walking slowly is of course pretty boring (unless you have to walk slowly?), what about being more interesting to keep your dogs attention? Vary the pace so he has to concentrate on you and where you're going. Use a toy and/or treat, do lots of turns (so when he gets ahead you walk the other way) so that it becomes fun rather than a chore. Use lots of praise and you'll find your dog wants to walk by your side. Does he pull in anticipation of being let off lead? If so, do walks on lead - don't let him anticipate where you'll let him off - make being on lead fun and exciting as well as off lead.
