Re: What would I do?

He hasn't been to a park since his HD got bad at around 18 months as he'd get too excited and I had to stop using the long line. Being a Mal he has never been off lead as ive been scared of him running off which one of his bro's did and was hit by acar and killed also I have spent his fitst 18 months street walking him to get him to walk well as these guys can be awful walkers when excited. From 18 months his walks were down to ten mins at a time due to pain with his HD at which point we hardly saw anyone and this last year has been taken up by his two ops and recovery. Now though we can and do walk everywhere, I love being able to take him out and am so proud of how he behaves but I just want to know how to deal with a tricky situation should it occur.

Kali and Bruce are also my dogs (others are my 3 daughters) and I walk them together daily again they both walk either side of me without a slightest pull, so i'm a pretty confident walker but Flynn has had limitations that have set him back. I have to say though that if he does show off at a dog it lasts less than seconds and he soon calms down so if we did meet one I should be okay but that depends on the other dog also.
