Peculiar body language

Just wondering if anyone knows the score in relation to some slightly strange body language from my 3 1/2 month old pup.

It's usually when he's just woke up, or when I return home from leaving him an hour or so to do something, but he'll come up to me, sit at my feet, drop his head back slightly and wait to have his chest and under his chin tickled. This is all fine but sometimes he does the old 'whale eye' thing while being scratched.

I've aways thought whale eye was a sign of intimidation/fear, so I stop and walk off, but he follows me and paws at my shins til I give him a scratch again but he does exactly the same thing with the eyes.

Bit puzzled really

Fingers crossed! I figured he must actually like it because he follows me and paws at me to do it again, surely if he was scared he wouldn't

Strange puppy, just like his owner lol

Re: Peculiar body language

That age is still getting motor-coordination together and the tickle sensation is probably nice but not sure why it's nice. Sticking things in my dog's ear is one of his pleasure points the other is deep muscle massage.

If the pup does not like something he won't paw for more.
