Duke keeps growling

Started yesterday, just randomly throughout the day he's layed on the floor growling sometimes his eyes are even half closed.

Now, he's layed in the hallway growling, eyes open so he isn't asleep and it's really baffling me.

Taking him tonight for the vet just in case. It's really bizzare

Any ideas? I thought maybe he heard something outside, so I open the front door and tell him "okay" so he does like a lap of the front garden, he then normally comes in and that shuts him up but he just carries on.

You CAN go near him though, it's not a "get away from me" growl, his body is very relaxed when he's doing it

Re: Duke keeps growling

Is there any pattern to it? Like the same place in the house or the same times of day? Maybe he can hear something, but it could be a lot further away than just the front garden? No real advice, sorry didn't want to read and run though

Eta just noticed your avatar, is duke an akita? Probably still no help but we used to have one and she was very vocal ha ha liked to 'talk' and grumble to herself sometimes. But I think you are doing the right thing taking him to the vets, hope everything goes ok

Re: Duke keeps growling

He's a GSD Cross Husky, or he was when we bought him.

Funny you should say Akita, I've been showing some Videos to leashedforlife of how he acts with strangers and she said she could see Akita in him, perhaps a BSD cross Akita
