The bragging/Success thread.

I don't know if this forum has one of these but another one I am on does.

Basically all you do is tell everyone you and your dog's successes - no matter how big or how little, how easy or how tough everyone else might find it. That way you can share it and others can comment and say well done

So - if you have had any successes lately - please share them

Re: The bragging/Success thread.

I just wanted to brag about kiva she has slept in her crate all night, no fussing and no toilet accidents, she went outside and did wee wee's on command, she then laid quietly while I prepared her breakfast and only got up to eat it after I had put it down and said 'good girl, go get it' she then came and sat next to me calmly for a big cuddle, she is now laid asleep in her crate, of her own accord with the door open
I know its not some huge training success, but at 14 weeks old I consider all these little things huge success'

Re: The bragging/Success thread.

sounds like she is doing very well :-)

Charlie (12 week cocker) managed to sit on command and wait at the entrance to the field today, until he was told he could go and play :-)

Re: The bragging/Success thread.

Kite got her gold KC good citizen a couple of weeks ago, won 2 grade 3 agility competitions, beating 140 other dogs and getting into grade 4, and got 3 places in her first competition at grade 4. She was 2 in the middle of August.

Ziggy also got her gold good citizen last year, and competes at agility grade 6. She hasn't had a win for a couple of years as she's slowing down with age, but got some 2nd and 3rd places this year.

Re: The bragging/Success thread.

With massage , warmth pads , hydrotherapy and lots of gentle exercise Oscar has recovered from his back injury in such a way that the vet is stumped to explain it.

Remy.. for dispite his brain damage turing out to be an everyday good dog ,,In the last two months he has learned to leave the room if Basil the parrot flies and not to approach him.. For Remy thats a big achivement.

Re: The bragging/Success thread.

ooo this is such a good idea

Since March this year Tummel has
-relearnt recall(lost it when his hormones kicked in)
-become aloof to 90% of strangers, and not gotten overexcited if they give him a fuss(he can walk past large groups of people and not even look at them now)
-learnt to come away from dogs when i say so
-Stopped jumping up 90% of the time(only happens when he's majorly excited now)
-learnt stay, calm, heel and bark

Tummels become a total showoff around other dogs and people, we went into P@H on Thursday(just me and Tummel) and he was great, didn't pull(or pee), met a lovely wee staffy who insisted on playing with him in the shop and when we were waiting in the queue he had hordes of people fussing him and talking to me and he didn't jump up once(he used to go nuts when getting fuss), even the staff were coming over to chat and fuss him And the best part is when i said he's part rottie everyone started saying how lovely rotties are

Also we went fishing at a very busy spot in August, there were cyclists, joggers, groups of people etc and Tummel spent the day either offlead or on a longline attached to the car and didn't even care He jumped on 2 people and thats only because they started playing with him and fussing him

A tip - hold the dummy in the middle - sometimes the dog just takes where the owners scent is - if you've held it round the ends then she will pick up them - if you hold it in the middle - you may see more improvement (it worked for my dog)
