Ideas Please

Has anyone got some inspiration for an exciting new trick to teach Bronwyn?

We know most of the basic stuff and our last trick was 'fetch your dinner bowl'

We are also starting agility soon, as both of us are new to it, any training ideas to give us a bit of a headstart?

Thanks!

Re: Ideas Please

Pour me a whisky?

What sort of dog is Bronwyn?

My dog loved 'sniffer dog training'. A police trainer had all the dogs doing it at obedience classes - basically learning to find treats under plant pots (eg 6 plant pots with treats under 2). They learn to find the correct 2 and ignore the other 4 really quickly.

In police terms, this is how bomb/drugs dogs start their training, but my dog used to go crazy to do this and would go and fetch the plant pots when he wanted to play!

Re: Ideas Please

A solid sit stay - for the start line.

A fast and instant recall from any direction - should help stop your dog taking the wrong obstacle.

Teaching basic heelwork ie "close" or "heel" command - to get your dog back to you.

Thanks folks, that gives us a few fun things to start on!

Bronwyn is a terrier crossbreed, she's a rescue so no idea what cross she is.
