The tiger has been eaten!

Heeellppppp!

Jenson has had a medium sized plushy tiger with him since he was brought home; I popped it in his crate with him to give him a bit of comfort and so he wouldn't feel so lonely after leaving his mum and littermates. He loved it and it seemed to do the trick, as he rarely cried in the early days and after the first few days never cried at all, just settled and slept.

Unfortunately, this tiger has been through the wars in the short 2 and a half months we've had Jenson; he's been teethed on, dragged around the house, carried on a walk round the block, dragged through the back garden privets, dry-humped and as a result, he is now missing both ears and his tail (the tiger not Jenson ). The other day I noticed Jenson had actually chewed through to the stuffing and was attempting to pull it out and chomp it, so I removed the teddy and he just got on with the rest of the day. I figured I'd have to buy him a new one but admittedly forgot about it til bedtime.

Sooo he went to bed, settled in his crate but as soon as we were in bed he began to cry .. I left it a while but seemed odd as he's never done this, so after 15 mins of crying I went in and finally figured out he was missing the teddy.. so I had to do a fast patch job (bleary eyed and tired lol) and gave it to him and he settled instantly.

Not sure what to do now, attempt to mend the ripped soggy mess that was his tiger, or buy a new one and hope he likes it just as much?

Aah the trials of puppydom

Buy a new one and rub it with the old one to get the familiar smells transferred to it. I think the old one has reached a stage where Jenson could get at the stuffing and eat it and I wouldn't want to risk this with my dog.

Yeah I think this is pretty much where I'm going with it. Going to head out into town and try and buy something similar, give it a good rub and play with Jenson with it for a bit and hopefully he won't notice the switcheroo!

RIP Plushy Tiger
