Exclamation best predictor of future-bites? Past bites.

Santa Cruz County deputy injured in dog attack - Santa Cruz Sentinel

this Golden-mix has 2 past bites before the one headlined here.
just to point out -

* any pit-type, Rott, or other bull-breed would have been in the headline -
a Golden-mix gets a pass?

* this dog had a past-bite to a cop - & lived?!

obviously, the owner was not responsible, as we can only presume the dog was at-large.

a dog with a bite-history is not hopeless, & i would never say to simply kill her or him; also obviously,
a dog who has bitten to cause injury requires BOTH B-mod AND on-going, careful management.
this owner failed - the dog, the community, the injured man. very sad outcome.
