Is Lily growling??

Bit of a strange one folks but hoping someone might be able to shed some light on Lilys behaviour.

She has always been a very vocal pup, not in a barking sense but in all sorts of strange noises. I don't know how to describe some of the noises she makes but they are varied and mostly when she is excited. She groans, she sighs, she whimpers, she talks, she grumbles, some of the noises she comes out with sound really quite human and like nothing I've ever heard a dog make!

Anyway, we've always found this quite endearing and even when we 1st picked her and her brother up we were told that she was a real little character right from birth and used to make a funny little grumbly noise whenever she was picked up (they said it definitely wasn't a growl)

But now she has started to make a noise that can only be described as a growl. If I heard any other dog doing it then I would definitely say it's a warning growl and you would be quite wary. But it doesn't make any sense when she does it. Take now for example - I am sat in the dining room at the table. Branston is lying in here with me and Lily is in the Kitchen next door lying on her bed and growling. Nobody is in there with her and she is not looking at anything, just growling??

Is she growling and if so why?? or is it just another of her silly voices?!
If I go in to her she will greet me with a waggy tail??

It's worrying because I obviously dont wat peope to think she is an aggressive dog but she certainly sounds like one at times.

Can anyone offer any ideas to the table??

Oh, by the way I'm certain she is not in pain as she will happily let you examine her all over and doesn't bat an eyelid. and is her normal happy healthy self in all other ways.

Wink Re: Is Lily growling??

How old is your dog by the way? It might be normal since your dog is still developing skills that can be improved through time. If your dog is old enough to bark but growls and whimpers can only be heard, your dog might have some problems with voice box. I’m not really sure since I’ve never experienced that situation before. I hope this helps…
