Thumbs up 2 dogs swept away by a tornado are found unhurt

Dogs Survive Wild Ride in Tornado | Life With Dogs

with all the heartache, heartbreak & loss, here was one family happy to be re-united.
their house is gone, but all the humans & pets are OK.

EDIT -
oops, i'm sorry - i forgot that i meant to note the change in behavior of the younger dog,
who was markedly depressed once the initial happiness at being 'home' faded, without their
'older sibling', the dog who'd been in the family previous to their arrival.

dogs make strong attachments to other family-members than just humans, mourn when they die,
fret over them when they're sick or gone for a show or visiting elsewhere, & enjoy the chance
to play, mutually groom, hang-out together, and so on, with their k9-housemate, cat-friend,
a particular horse, or whomever.
dogs have formed strong bonds to elephants [see the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee for the story],
leopards, goats, monkeys, rabbits, and just about any other mammalian species, plus chickens,
ducks, parrots, and more; about the only species-family i have NOT heard dogs becoming buddies
with are reptiles; i hypothesize the body-language is too different for cross-species communication.
