Training going well..............nearly!

Hi, A few words for all those in the process of training (basic very basic) your dog, Way back in september 2010 we got Louie the dog an Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier from our local rescue, believed to be 4-5 months old, he came to us with very little training although he was perfectly house trained, he has since learned to stop, drop, sit, wait, walk on the lead (still working on the occasional pulling), ignore binbags, not jumping up to greet people and dogs, his name!, all of these have been a joint effort between Louie the dog and myself!, because without his co-operation they would have been so much more difficult, he has taught me to give him a little bit of chicken when he jumps on top of a wall walks along it and then sits!, to blow a whistle when he decides he's ready to come back to me!, mud is the dogs answer to everything!, anything that comes through the letter box is evil and must be destroyed!, anything that lands on the floor is his by right!, anything stashed in his bed is his and must not be disturbed!, cardboard boxes are his to shred!, If he puts one of his large lumps of tree branch on the lawn I must not move it as he will only carry it back!, anyone he encounters must be subjected to a thorough crutch sniffing!, trying to wash his feet is a two person job, but, he will happily stand up to his neck in the sea on a freezing february morning! I think we are both on a big learning curve here. wayne.
