Loose Lead Walking

Cracked it for now!

My 5 year old can now walk Duke, though I still hold him when he walks past dogs or on roads but still! She can now walk him whilst I walk Logan!!

So proud
RobD-BCactive, grandad and Hetty like this.

Re: Loose Lead Walking

Yeah, for not giving up!
It also looks very very cool, when you have a large dog being gently walked by a small child without any struggling on either side.

Re: Loose Lead Walking

A mixture of walking backwards when he pulls, then when I got frustrated he went on the halti for a couple of weeks so I don't walk him when I'm stressed, back to two weeks or so of walking backwards when he pulled, then back on the halti. Now he's off he's absolutely fine.

It would've taken me a lot quicker if I had more patience

That's exactly how I got Alfie walking properly on lead when I first got him.
Far better to use some form of head collar or harness intermittently than lose your temper. I used one to save back ache as well
