Re: where to begin?

Congrats on your new baby - if she hasn't been out and about yet you have lots and lots of catching up to do.
Here is a month long program of daily training and socialisation programs for puppies: SYP Month | Pet Central's Pawsitive Dawgs Blog!

Read the intro so as to get the link to free download copies of Before and After You Get Your Puppy by Dr Dunbar.

Re: where to begin?

Are you also taking your puppy outside to toilet? If not then start doing so. There's a sticky here about it.

My son has Poppy's litter sister, they are now 11 months old. He started his pup on puppy pads and she still toilets indoors on the pads, never outside.

Re: where to begin?

Find the best puppy play opportunity you can, and look for other opportunities for play, so it's not just a once a week event.
Habituate your pup to everything in daily life, without overwhelming it, positive experiences are key.

Read Dog Star Daily and especially Raising A Puppy | Dog Star Daily which has explanation of the things you aim for to raise the happiest dog, who'll be the best companion (and give you less trouble as time investment now really pays off!).

Re: where to begin?

Find a good puppy training class near you, and certainly start on the basics as soon as possible. I do know that lots of people will tell you not to bother with puppy classes but I found them great for socialisation and very good for teaching Kilo to focus on me with the distraction of other dogs there - he was doing basic commands well at home before we started class, but it took him a few classes to learn to listen to me every time rather than look around the hall to see if any of the other puppies wanted to play with him!!
