 Well I think going to the dog to grab is positvely punishing recall!  In fact moving towards my dog, is how I taught the "Back!" command for when he sits in doorways etc. Last edited by RobD-BCactive; 30-04-2011 at 01:41 PM..

In this situation with this dog, recalling has been negatively punished. If the dog finds collar grabs aversive than it is likely positively punished.
My dog targets me with his neck when I ask for his collar or show him a leash  Consequences are individual and are based on experience.
