Question pups agression to older dogs

hi, i have a 10 month old lab who is fantastic, but recently shes had a few scuffles with older dogs, its generally over a plastic bottle or stick, we regularly meet the same dogs on the field and they are all older than her, some times my other dog (her mother) might find a plastic bottle so they chase each other and play, however if another dog comes over to try and take it off her she will warn them that its hers, she does this several times and if the other dog doesnt back off they have a scuffle, should she be the one to back off? with her being younger? the other dogs are males and the one shes had the most scuffles with is also a possesive dog, we are both aware of our dogs behaviour so check them regularly when there together, there fine when theres no bottle. to be honest she isnt too interested in other dogs as she all for her mother, but she generally mixes well. any advice would be great thanks.

Re: pups agression to older dogs

Some dogs are very protective of their items. Think of it as a peice of meat she has in the wild, she isn't going to let another dog come and take it. I am not the best person to ask but, everytime she did this i would say 'Hey!' Or 'No!' Or 'Ah!' Then maybe take the bottle away, so she learns if she is bad like that, bottle is taken away.

I'm sorry if iwas no use, but i would like to start helping people
