Re: Training Lead

It's not double ended, but I use horse lead ropes--they are (obviously) very strong and the trigger clip is large.

Re: Training Lead

I have one of these a bit pricey but I have no doubt that it is going to last a lot longer than Jasper is and probably me too! I have had it for almost a year and despite being out in all weathers and a couple of beach trips, it still looks like brand new. Obviously the quality and workmanship are second to none and it is incredibly strong.

If you don't want to pay that much then try this webbing version, currently on special offer, same manufacturer and all of their products are really well put together using quality materials and good old fashioned craftmanship.

The first one does look good; the cost isn't an issue as long as the quality is there. The photo was slightly unclear (or I may be being stupid!!) but can it be adjusted so that there is a clip at either end?

The quality is definitely there, best made dog products I have ever bought, I have this lead, a leather collar and a treat bag from the same manufacturer and they are all top notch gear.

The lead does have two clips, one slightly larger than the other, and three rings along it's length, configured just like a normal training lead except the centre ring is bigger than the others so that the smaller clip can be threaded through it, this way you don't have a big loop of lead hanging around to get caught on things and it seems to stop it from twisting around itself. It looks like a braided rope but is some sort of polymer, very strong and very easy to grip, even when wet. All the metalwork is polished chrome and the joints are covered with very good quality leather.

If you really want to push the boat out they also do an elk leather version for £55! Looks beautiful but I am just not a fan of leather leads and am also very poor.

I see...thank you for your help Not bothered about aesthetics and also don't really see the need to pay a huge amount for the elk leather either..there are limits!!

I still need to make a decision as I have had so many helpful suggestions...don't take nearly as much care buying stuff for myself
