Growling on lead

Hi my sibe has never had a problem with other dogs but since shes been pregnant shes now started to growl at other dogs when shes on the lead. She doesnt do it when shes off the lead or with the other dog she lives with? It has happened 3 times once at the vets and twice today and pets at home, could this be due to her pregnancy combined with the maybe stressful situtations?

Any advice will be much appreciated!

It could well be just the pregnancy and change in hormones, Is it with other bitches more by any chance? Ive known bitches get funny with other bitches when they are in season, or if they are not get funny with other bitches who are. So it could well be that. especially if its only since pregnancy. Maybe its made her unsure at the moment with dogs she doesnt know. Or maybe pritective and defensive. Maybe she feels at a disadvantage by being on the lead, as shes trapped and doesnt have a flight option as she would offlead if she is unsure. A lead can also interfere with there body signalling that might be making her feel at a disadvantage in her current state.

Re: Growling on lead

To be honest I dont know the sex of the other dogs, with one of them (a lab) she greeted it with a wagging tail sniffed each others noses and then sat down and growled! Shes not baring her teeth but just a lot of noise!

I am hoping that it is just the hormones making her moody as she has never had a problem with any dogs large or small!
